Privacy Policy

Overview

Poolably is a privacy-first pool chemistry app. Your pool profiles, test results, chemical inventory, and treatment plans are stored on your device. We do not have access to your pool data.

Data Stored on Your Device

All of the following data is stored locally on your iPhone or iPad using Apple's SwiftData framework:

• Pool and hot tub profiles (volume, type, surface)
• Water test results and history
• Chemical inventory and usage logs
• Treatment plans and completed steps

This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to sync via iCloud or export via CSV.

iCloud Sync (Pro)

Pro subscribers can optionally enable iCloud sync to keep pool data in sync across multiple devices. This uses Apple's CloudKit private database, which means:

• Your data is stored in your personal iCloud account
• Poolably developers cannot access your synced data
• You can disable sync at any time in the app settings

iCloud sync is entirely optional and user-controlled.

Analytics

Poolably uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to improve app quality:

• Firebase Analytics: Anonymous usage events such as test_logged, plan_generated, and step_completed. These events contain no personally identifiable information — no names, emails, pool data, or test results.
• Firebase Crashlytics: Crash reports containing device model, OS version, and stack traces. No personal data or pool chemistry data is included.

Subscription Management

Poolably offers optional in-app purchases managed through Apple's App Store and processed by RevenueCat, our subscription infrastructure provider. RevenueCat receives:

• An anonymous app user ID (not linked to your name or email)
• Purchase and subscription status (to verify your entitlements)

RevenueCat does not receive any of your pool data. Their privacy policy is available at revenuecat.com/privacy.

Apple App Store

Purchases are processed by Apple. Apple's handling of payment information is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. Poolably does not have access to your payment details.

Data Export

Poolably allows you to export your test history and chemical logs as CSV files. These exports are generated entirely on your device and shared using iOS's native share sheet. We do not receive copies of your exports.

No Advertising

Poolably contains no ads, no ad tracking SDKs, and no third-party data sharing for advertising purposes. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third party.

Children's Privacy

Poolably is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in the app or legal requirements. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised date.
